Work vs. Work

So another day is here, and I am once again struggling to update my blog. I think I have pin-pointed the major cause of my difficulty...work.

Don't get me wrong. I enjoy my career, and it tends to put food on the table. But there are days that I spend upwards of 8 hours entirely on work-related issues.

Like the other day - I got to work, turned on my computer, and was just about to play a game of minesweeper when my boss comes by and gives me a report that he wants me to revise! Slow down there chief...I don't recall asking you for something to do. So that was 4 hours of my day gone. It was frustrating trying to change that misspelled word and still be able to keep up with the chat room's conversation. I could tell LEGO267 was frustrated too, since he was trying to get my input on the new Batman movie.

In fact, right now I can hardly think straight to type this blog since my phone keeps ringing. I've just been unplugging the thing most days, but today I am waiting for Jesse McCartney's Leavin' to come on the radio so I can call in and win tickets to this weekend's boat show.

When I started this job, I was told I would get a lunch break every day. Come to find out, I have been expected to return from lunch within an hour! Happy hour at Roscoe's doesn't even start until 2pm. So does that mean I can only drink one pitcher, and at the regular price? I guess I'll have to do a shot as I head out the door and to McDonald's. At least I've got the rest of the afternoon to finish my meal if I bring it back to work.

Well, I leave at 4:15 (it takes 45 minutes to drive home!), so I'd better wrap up this entry and get back to researching hotels for my upcoming (and well deserved) vacation.
