Vacation - Day 1

This is great! I should take a week off from work every week!

Steph and I went to lunch and then caught a movie. For those who know me, movies are a very rare thing for us. Aside from the Simpson's movie last summer (which was required to maintain my membership in the fan club), the wife and I have not been to a theater forever! Step Brothers opened up on Friday, so I was hoping the 12:30 matinée would not be too crowded. Luckily, the other guy in the theater was pretty quiet. I was surprised that there were not more people, but it was nice to have the whole place to ourselves.

The movie was pretty good. The previews got me all worked up, so I was hoping it was not going to be a let down. Although I have seen funnier movies, it was well worth the money! I must be getting old, because I though the language was a bit over the top. There were times when the f-bomb was used perfectly, but they may have overused it to where it lost it's power.

Once again, Farrell and Reilly were a great team. Even though their characters were immature and childish as in Talladega Nights, I didn't feel like I was watching the same jokes over again. The supporting characters, especially Adam Scott and Kathryn Hahn, provided a lot of laughs and kept the movie rolling.

This isn't the kind of movie that I will be quoting for the next 5 years, but it was good for a mid-morning Monday laugh or two! I give it 3 1/2 stars (out of 5)
