Today Rocks!

Once again, it's Wednesday - time to share my humble (but always accurate) opinion...

The internet. What would life be like without it? I vaguely remember a simpler time, when communicating was a task handled by the telephone or a mail carrier. A time when getting a good deal at an auction meant sitting in a large room with a numbered paddle. Surely these people of the past despised their way of life - dreaming of the day when they could argue endlessly over movies, sports, or whatever other topic they choose from the comfort of their own home. I recall this bleak past would force strangers to sit, face to face, and play cards or board games. Important news of the day would arrive via newspaper, television or radio, and only at the times when those media outlets decided it was necessary for the public to be informed. How were people to know the going-ons of Hollywood? A magazine? No thank you! If Johnny Depp is going to be starring in a new television show about young undercover police officers, I want to know today! And let's not forget the beautiful pictures, screen savers, and videos that we have access to now. It used to be that one would have to hike, sometimes for hours, in order to obtain the photos you and I can see from our desks. Why waste the time and money going to the grand canyon when I can Google the experience today?! I truly pity those that lived before the web, and am glad my children will grow up in a world full of free music and easily accessible porn!
